Chapter 10: New Partners, Shikerou and Kakarotto! The Triumphant Warriors Return!
How can a pathetic Chikyuujin become so damned powerful? Kakarotto mused, his mangled body
laying in the soft green dust of Barusei. His attack on the robot had failed, his legs
were shattered, and his ribs burned in undescribable agony. His jaw was broken, he
couldn't move, all he could do was watch. The fight had come to this, even at full power
Kakarotto was not enough to destroy the Barujin robot, and now his very life depended on Shikerou. Shimatta...
*Beep Beep Beep*
Nani?!? His barely functional scouter was giving him a readout of 10,000 in power and
rising. How could Shikerou possible be this strong? My full battle power is just over that
damned Chikyuujin's... Kakarotto could do nothing more then lay still and watch as
Shikerou's golden hair whipped upwards and the crater around him began to sink even further
into the eerie green soil. He was helpless and, shortly thereafter, unconscious.
Shikerou couldn't move, he could barely breathe, and was beaten like he had never been before.
Every muscle in his body twitched, and every movement was sheer agony. He couldn't feel his
arms or legs, they weren't hurt, just exhausted. His Neo-Saiyajin armor was torn to shreds by
the bursts of white hot plasma that spewed from the destroyed robot. His power had increased
tremendously, more than he had ever thought it could, any more and he would surely not
have survived. He risked his body being torn to shreds, but why? To save Kakarotto? Shike
attempted to stand up, however his balance was off, and
he fell forward as his tired and worn body gave out. All life on
Wakusei Baru had been destroyed, and there was an uneasy silence in the air. Shike's last
strength gave out on him, he had used too much energy, and he once again slipped into darkness...
Bejita wore his royal garb, a long red cape, and insignia of his family over the right
breastplate of his armor. His power had increased dramatically, every Saiyajin could feel the
change, and those who were afraid before, were positively terrified now. He was however
concerned with the situation on Barusei. Power readings had been off the scale, then suddenly
dropped. The Barujin were a skilled race in both
science and war, but surely Kakarotto was strong enough to destroy that planet on his own, and
with the help of the Chikyuujin. What in Hell keeps killing my men? pondered the Prince of
the Saiyajin..
"Has there yet been any contact from Barusei?" Bejita asked without turning to face the
messenger.
"No my Lord, we have not received any transmissions over the scouter frequencies, and there have
been no power readings for at least six hours."
"What is the arrival time of the science and elite teams?"
"The Elite pickup team is scheduled to pick up the Barujin warriors in a few days, and our
scientists are scheduled to arrive at Barusei in seven months. There should be no delay issues,
if Kakarotto and the Chikyuujin have failed. Your Elite team will surely crush the remaining
resistance."
"Good, notify me if there are any power spikes or transmissions from Barusei, I want to know
what has happened."
The proud Prince exited the room, leaving the soldiers to test frequencies, and find out what
was happening on that eerie green planet in the far reaches of space.
A cold wind carrying with it the smell of death woke Shikerou from his uneasy slumber, it's
repulsive odors could wake the dead responsible for it. Shikerou sat up to see what he had left behind, the dead
planet of Barusei, it's ground covered in shards of metal, and it's landscape covered in the
corpses of it's people. He had been knocked for miles away from the battle scene, and his body
did him no good in hiding it. Shikerou could hardly believe the destruction he had wrought
upon this planet, he and Kakarotto, it was time to go, he had to find his Saiyajin escort...
"Kakarotto!"
Shikerou shouted out into the vast desert before him, the landscape withered and destroyed by
his battles, he did not get a response.
"Where the hell is he? I saw him get crushed by that robot, after that it's all a blur.,
and he sure as hell didn't look fit enough to leave without me."
It was then that it hit him. The explosion must have tossed him miles away... Shikerou ignited his
body with what little remaining ki he had and took to flight shakily toward the tower of smoke in the distance.
Shortly thereafter he arrived to find a shivering warrior, the cold winds blowing across his
exposed wounds. His legs were shattered, and covered with blood. His ribcage was a similar
mess of blood, a bone was protruding from his jaw, he was in really bad shape. To describe
Kakarotto as 'severly injured' was a vast understatement, he was barely breathing, let alone moving. His torn
and tattered armor was soaked in his crimson blood. Shikerou dropped to the ground to
rush to Kakarotto's aid. Upon closer inspection, Shikerou found Kakarotto's wounds to be beyond his initial
impression... Kakarotto was beat to all hell, it was amazing that he was still alive.
"Kuso... I have to get him back into the pods and keep him alive or Bejita will kill me!"
The thought of being afraid of any other fighter merely pissed Shikerou off, but he knew Bejita's
terribly powerful ki, and even with his own great power, he could not even hold a candle to Bejita's.
He picked Kakarotto's shattered scouter, more out of impulse than practicality, and cradled Kakarotto's
broken body gently in his arms as he leapt carefully into the
air towards the pods that lay in the distance.
"Bejita-sama, we just received word from Barusei!"
The Saiyajin soldier rushed to the Saiyajin Prince handing him the message received only moments
ago.
"Interesting, the Chikyuujin transferred this? And he says Kakarotto is "damn near dead". How
could a Chikyuujin survive a battle, and a Saiyajin be near death? He must be the one."
"The one what my lord?"
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with, I assume they are in their pods on their way here
now?"
"Hai! Two pods were detected leaving right after the message."
"Make sure to have a medical staff on hand to stabilize Kakarotto and get him to the tanks. He
will be a useful soldier with such great power."
"Yes Bejita-sama!"
The Saiyajin solder scrambled to get out of the presence of the Prince, his power was fearsome,
almost as great as his fathers.
The two bright pods hurled through space at incredible rates. Thoughts raced through both
warrior's dreams. Kakarotto pondered if he would ever meet his son, whereas Shike wondered
what would happen to him if his Saiyajin partner died. Why had I cared so much about that
Saiyajin thought Shike. Both warriors were concerned with their issues, and they had plenty of
time to think of them. The journey was one of six months, so Shikerou activated the preserving gases
in both his and Kakarotto's tank, then took a deep breath.
"NANI?!?"
The roar of the king of the Saiyajin shook the Imperial Palace, it's off-white walls shivering with
the force of Ou Bejita's mighty shout.
"You say his two warriors took Wakusei Baru with little resistance?"
The small warrior trembled in fear before Bejita-Ou's truly awesome power. His level was rumored
to be 100,000, the strongest of all Saiyajin in the past millenium, since the last
Super Saiyajin had lived. Some even believed the king himself to be a Super Saiyajin, but no
one had known what it really was.
"Hai!"
"But how? What were the power readings during the fighting?"
"Nothing too impressive until the last days of the fighting. The Chikyuujin had a stronger ki
then the Saiyajin warrior at one point in the battle."
"A Chikyuujin with a ki that strong? Impressive. What about the Torajin?"
"They were too far away to even hope to help, it will be 7 months before they even reach that
planet."
"Continue monitoring my son, I want to see how he handles the threat of these Torajin."
"Hai Bejita-sama!"
Shikerou's pod slammed into Chikyuusei with tremendous force, its energy absorbed into a
massive landing pad, Kakarotto's landed seconds later where several physicians were
waiting. The door on Shikerou's pod silently slid open, and from it emerged Shikerou, his right
shoulder swollen and red, his forehead bleeding.
"So that's what those seatbelts were for..." Shikerou muttered as he fell to the ground, unconscious.
He looked around him at the strange world into which he had recently emerged. Blinking his new eyes, he watched the people behind
the glass as they passed by. He reached his hand upward and stared at it for a moment, and with an audible whir, a bright blue
ki ignited around it for a brief moment
Across the room, the power indicator on incubator #47 read 300.
"Chiaaaaat!"
Kakarotto narrowly dodged Shikerou's tremendously quick attack. Kakarotto's power had shot up considerably after he
healed from the Barusei injuries, but Shikerou was quick to train unbelievably hard, and was catching up fast.
With a series of quick punches and jabs, Kakarotto managed to fend Shike off for a moment, just long enough to zanzoken
behind him and drive an elbow into Shikerou's lower back. He pushed foward, his prone opponent bent backward in pain
around the offending elbow. Shike suddenly spun and caught Kakarotto aross the face with his own elbow.
Kakarotto spun off, landing a few feet away from his sparring partner and dropped into his sutansu.
"Feh, you're pathetic, Chikyuujin... you didn't even draw blood."
"Bullshit..."
At that, Kakarotto checked his hand, and sure enough there was a drop of crimson mocking him.
"Haaaaaaa!!!"
Kakarotto screamed his approach to Shikerou as he resumed the heated training.
A flurry of punches and kicks moving at barely subsonic speeds, the two were a blur of wild abandon, and loving every
second.
Keikan looked out upon desolation and destruction. He sighed, stepped forward and sank to his knees in dispair. They
had failed to protect their allies, and the Saiyajin destroyed every last one. He vowed vengence.
He touched the button on his scouter. It emitted a series of beeps and displayed power readings to the south.
"Parukan, Reido, we're going to find the Saiyajin and they are going to die."
Buruma sat thinking about her son. Before he was taken to the incubators, she had noticed his hair: there was a
blue streak on the right side of his head that reached his neck. Her beautiful baby boy...
Across the room a few aliens chattered in an unitelligible tounge.
She let her mind drift, as she had done to pass the time as of late. She normally thought of machinery or a way to improve or
change some of the Saiyajin technology around her. This time, however, she thought of Kakarotto. She had always felt something
for Son Goku. He had felt more as a brother to her than a friend or love, but now she wasn't as sure. She had enjoyed the
sex just as much as she had enjoyed the times they had spent searching for the seven dragonballs, which were now lost forever
after Piccolo's death... She couldn't shake the memory of Son killing Piccolo... though Piccolo was evil, it still pained her
to see her little Goku killing someone... and then there was Yamucha... Buruma had spent many nights thinking about Yamucha
and his death, and she had spent as many crying herself to sleep.
He found them quickly. They hadn't time to even flinch. Keikan simply held out his hand and destroyed the lot of them.
